From living through the devastating Canterbury earthquakes, and from House Lifters’ continuing work in the rebuild, we understand the challenges of working in unique, challenging environments created by natural disasters.
Deeply affected by how close Christchurch came to being destroyed, Rod Moore and Stuart Moore formed House Lifters’ disaster response team. This included Registered Engineers, Licensed builders, Designers and construction industry professionals.
We’ve since helped hundreds of families and businesses back into their repaired properties, and are proud to have also saved many Heritage buildings from demolition.

During the Canterbury rebuild, House Lifters saw the need for vastly improved Lifting, Sliding and Levelling equipment... We commissioned a team of Engineers to custom-design our kit.
Our ingenious Mechanical Jacking systems are now recognised internationally for pin-point accuracy. They’re also much faster to use - extremely important if there are many damaged buildings needing repairs.

House Lifters is unusual in the Lifting industry for also having an in-house Engineering team, Licensed and Certified Builders, plus a vast network of trusted tradespeople for repair and renovation work. We also have our own Diggers.

To protect buildings (and to comply with any minimum Floor Levels required), in Coastal areas vulnerable to rising sea-levels, and inland flood-prone/at-risk areas, House Lifters lifts buildings to safer heights, then builds new/extended Foundations.

Where ground has subsided or has been damaged, e.g. by flooding or liquefaction, House Lifters can stiffen and strengthen upper soil layers. Innovative solutions include the Armadillo™ Foundation System, and Ground Screw Systems (Screw Pile Levelling).
